Biography: When Gafa joined Meanwood in 2004 expectations were high. Indeed Gafa was first asked to join Meanwood as a replacement for Sam Sawiuk after he temporarily went AWOL. However Gafa decided to stay loyal to Pools Wonders instead. In hindsight it was probably a mistake as Wonders flirted with the top places but flattered to deceive. When Pools Wonders dissolved Gafa was in high demand and received many offers but Meanwood was the only team he considered.

When Gafa joined Meanwood he set his standards high and finished the overall top scorer in his first tournament, scoring 7 goals in 3 eight minute games.

Since then Gafa has firmly established himself as a crucial Meanwood player and has been the one constant in the team throughout the years, never missing a game. He is now the joint captain with team-mate Richard Bissitt.

He has a tremendous amount of pace, good ball control, an unusual amount of stamina and a very accurate shot, which combined makes him a deadly striker. His ability has earned him the accolade as Meanwood's top scorer in the last three seasons despite fierce competition.

When Meanwood went on hiatus Gafa continued playing for a number of clubs. However a knee injury disrupted his career and he was out for over a year. He returned and joined the Crusaders for a period of time. In his last match for the Crusaders, Gafa scored an incredible 6 goals in the first 5 minutes of the game. However disaster struck as Gafa tackled somebody and won the ball but with the cost of breaking his foot. Shortly after his foot injury his knee injury resurfaced and Gafa was forced to retire. He has however been persuaded to dust off his boots and be part of the Meanwood revival. Hopefully he will manage to repeat his previous feats.
