Biography:
Sam Sawiuk was born on Christmas Eve but this man's no holy man. Sawiuk was a founding member of Meanwood and has gone on to win countless trophies as a result. During the early Meanwood years Sawiuk was one of the team's most recognisable players.
Sawiuk is one of the most well known 5-a-side hardmen ever, if not the most well known. Opposition players fear him and tremble in his presence. This is because they know he will give them a hard time and make life difficult.
He may look friendly but being friendly is not a priority in Sawiuk's world. The only priority is winning and winning is something Sawiuk is determined to do.
Every team needs an enforcer and Sawiuk bosses the entire pitch. Many accuse Sawiuk of being a dirty player but in truth Sawiuk is firm but fair. This hasn't stopped referees from sending him off though as Sawiuk holds the 5-A-Side record for the most red cards ever. In his earlier years Sawiuk got sent off on average once every three games. However he has mellowed now and he's learnt to time his challenges more effectively, this however doesn't mean he gives opposition players any more of an easy ride. He will go to any lengths to ensure victory.
Sawiuk is not just about tackling though. He's very quick and specialises in first time shots which often catch keepers off guard.
Sawiuk is also a persuing a successful career with the rugby league team Queens. This has made his appearances more sparse in recent years.
